Happy Birthday Karter!

We can't believe Karter is 2. We have had so much fun with him ove the past year watching him grow and learn. Just last night he was singing his ABCs and now he can count to 19. He knows 15 presidents by their pictures and talks in 7 word sentences. He can sings several songs, Jesus Loves Me, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and The Chicken Song. He also makes up his own songs to sing while we rock him at night. His favorite show to watch is I Spy, and his favorite books are also I Spy.

Fall Festival

I feel terrible for not posting anything for 4 months, so here goes with a few things. I'll start with Kayla riding a horse in the parade. Karter still tells me on a daily basis that Keeka's horse Angle eats apples (something I told him the day of the parade.)

Prom 2009

Kayla had lots of fun at Prom. I wish I had taken a picture of her finger nails. They looked so pretty, and she liked them so much. Kayla looked beautiful and Caleb was very handsome. Karter keeps saying "pretty" when he looks at the pictures.

Giraffe or Monkey?

Karter likes to watch himself after making a movie. He sits down at the computer and makes a movie at least once a week. Tonight he found the giraffe costume and wanted to put it on, but he still thought he was a monkey.

Happy Birthday Maddox!

Sorry I don't have any pictures of the party Maddox, I forgot my camera at home, but you sure were cute yesterday!

I did break out the phone to take a few pictures when the kids got on horses for the first time. Caleb and Alex had their horses out yesterday. Kayla and Seth took turns riding Caleb's horse. Kalya lasted about 30 seconds before Robert had to help her down (that's why there isn't a picture of her). Seth did great. Karter got to sit on the pony named Cowboy. He kept calling the horses "Kitty Cows". I'm not sure where that name came from. When Grandpa heard there were horses close by he wanted to go ride, so he did. Rob made sure he got a picture. You never know when we'll get to see Grandpa on a horse again.

Cubs Game

A couple weeks ago we woke up on Saturday and decided we would go to the Cubs game. I needed a break from studying, the weather was nice, and we didn't have anything planned. We hopped in the car and drove to Chicago. Karter had a good time and the Cubs won in 10 innings!

Vacation

I've been working on a slide show and haven't had much luck. I thought I'd better get a few pictures put up before we took our next vacation. We all had a wonderful time enjoying the sun, sand, and water.

Build-A-Monkey

We went to Fort Wayne last weekend and Karter went to Build-a-bear for the first time.  We were waiting on Robert and decided to stroll through and look at the bears.  Karter saw the monkey in the bin, and got very excited.  He named the monkey Ah Ah and carries him around the house.  As you can see, Robert made it to the store before we finished up and dressed the monkey in a cubs shirt.

Playing outside

Karter likes to play outside, and since we have had a few nice days, he thinks he should be outside every day.  He cries at the back door and wants to "go go".  When he hears the cat meowing outside it gets even worse because he wants to go out and chase her.  As you can see, Karter likes to eat the snow, and his dad didn't have any objections.  But when it was time to go inside, he was very unhappy.

First Hair Cut

A few before pictures.

The back is still long enough to keep the double
crown from sticking up.
He really enjoyed the sucker.
This is about what it looks like from the front.

Today Karter got his hair cut for the first time.  He wasn't very happy about the cutting process, and Rachel had to give him a sucker to keep him sitting still.  I will have to post an after shot of his new do once he sits still long enough for me to get a decent picture.  It is still long on top and the sides, but all the shag has been trimmed and the back layered a little and above his collar.

Children's Museum

We took Karter to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis last weekend.  We only stayed a couple hours but he had a wonderful time.

Karter in Time Out

Looks like he's having way too much fun for getting in trouble.  He kept getting under the desk and flipping the switch on the power cord and turning everything off.  I had to put him in his "house" and turn on videos for him just so I could check email.

Playing in the Snow

The last big snow we had, I decided to take Karter outside to try out his new boots (no more plastic bags over his slippers).  He loved it.  I was brushing off my car and he kept taking off down the alley to visit the neighbors.  Once he falls down, he can get half way up and then needs help.   When he figures out the getting up and down, he'll like it even more.

Miami-Cass REMC has a Christmas party for the children of all employees.  This year the party was at Pizza Quick.  The kids enjoyed playing games, eating pizza, and getting presents.  Some of them enjoyed seeing Santa.  As you can see, Karter was not one who enjoyed Santa.  This was his second time sitting on Santa's lap.  He did a little better, the first time he was crying.
